As the very first editorial planned for Northwed Magazine, this bridesmaids’ brunch editorial was extra sweet to shoot. I had the honor of working with talented photographer, Julie Harmsen-Fitts and food and prop stylist Malina Lopez, who kindly offered up her home and impressive collection of antiques for the day.
The inspiration for this editorial centered on celebrating the excitement of marriage and savoring the gift of friendship. To honor such a special occasion, I dreamed of a setting that was rich with vintage charm and feminine splendor. What could be a better way for a bride to ask her girls to be her bridesmaids than with a modern take on a tea party? Amongst pretty pastries, bright fruits, and candelabras, the delicious, delicate lemon crepe cake by Love and Pie was the star of the brunch table. To make the editorial even more special, the girls surrounding the table are my best friends who I’d gladly call my own bridesmaids one day.

When it came to displaying Lucy and Ryan’s love for one another, San Josef Bay made for the ultimate backdrop. The two of them recently tied the knot in a coastal setting, and this shoot was the perfect opportunity to capture a more casual celebration of their commitment. The happily married couple called upon the artistically-inclined photographer, Kimberley Kufaas to capture their couple’s shoot and harness their love for the beach. The results are simply stunning. Though the styled session was carefully pieced together with an editorial eye, the narrative that it represents is anything but contrived. Wade through their beautifully rugged and emotionally-rich images below, and keep watch for their wedding images to come.
As snow softly falls from above, the beauty of winter captivates our souls. The kiss of the cold ignites goosebumps on our skin and the light reflecting off of the white dances a little differently. There’s an undeniable aura of romance that the season provides, and this enchanting styled shoot, captured by Behind the Sea Photography, beautifully marries the wonder of a wedding with the majesty of wintertime.
“For this shoot, we set out to create a warm and moody indoor environment that would lend itself to a intimate winter gathering. Lush florals by Jordan Moll topped off the style with a rich, moody color palette of crimson, berry hues, gold, and a touch of dusty blue.
The Summit at Snoqualmie gave our series a final, dreamy touch as the light snowfall highlighted an original gown by Phuong Minh Nguyen and a sparkling headpiece by Melinda Rose Design.”

Being born and raised in the incredible Pacific Northwest, with mountains as a headboard, the beach as a pillow, and the forest as a blanket… it makes a girl pretty spoiled. As I assembled my dream team for our end-of-season styled shoot this year, I had two strong visions: I ONLY wanted a locally-based, female-led team for our vendors, and I wanted to display as much of the crazy-beautiful variations on the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest.
Rich with earthy elegance, this seaside styled shoot photographed on location at Ruby Beach points to the intimate sentiment of a coastal elopement. Supplying mystery and romance, the hazy oceanfront setting translates flawlessly into these images captured by Fleur de lis Photography. This shoot is far from short of Pacific Northwest charm with its extravagant, organic bouquets by Sara Jane Camacho and adorable mussel shell details. The bride’s effortless open-back gown with a cascading ruffle detail from The Dress Theory supplies just strikes the perfect balance of relaxed and regal. Get caught up in all the magic below:
Inspired by a landscape of rich, rugged rock, lush waters, and rolling trees, this styled shoot beautifully captures the spirit of the Pacific Northwest. Romance abounds in every shot captured on film by the talented Anna Peters. The bride’s carefree spirit shines in an understated three-quarter sleeve dress and a loose, bohemian French braid. The styled shoot’s effortless elegance continues into the tablescape, where casual linens and simple place settings meet with a cascading floral arrangement and vintage candelabras.
